Claire Amber

Renaissance Woman

Hello. My name is Claire and I’m the creator of this blog and website. Since my offerings are about helping others who are maybe going through similar things, I wanted to share a little of my background with you.

I identify as a renaissance woman. I was born with many gifts and talents and have also picked up a number of them, along the way. My life has been about exploring, self-discovery, healing, and trying to determine how I fit into this world, plus deciding which gifts to lean into.

Here are some things about me that are relevant to domestic wellness and this website, Jazzed at Home

Homemaker

I don’t want to overwhelm you, so I’ll spare you most of the torrid details of my past. Let’s just say that I had a very unstable upbringing and was raised by emotionally immature, narcissistic parents.

I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, a spinal condition, a food addiction, and obesity. I’m also a highly sensitive person. Shout out to my fellow HSP’s! I’ve come a long way on my healing journey, but still have work to do. Don’t we all?!

Until five years ago, I’d never really had a healthy, happy, stable home of my own. That’s why creating one for myself has been super important to me.

I’m very domestically inclined. I love to geek out on nutrition and cook healthy food for myself. I exercise at home, when I can. I also work from home. I love to create art and home-related crafts. I love to decorate, organize, declutter, and otherwise work my feng shui magic in my own home.

My home is small, but lovely (aside from a few blemishes, here and there). I like to refer to it as a jewel box.

I’m single and I don’t have any children. I’d love to have a cat at some point, though.

Storyteller

From Burned Out to Fired Up by Claire Amber, on Amazon

I have had some major blocks around communication, which I think is why I’ve been so drawn to it.

I was on a speech team in junior college. I am a classically trained vocalist, though singing jazz is more my jam, these days. I had a stint as a volunteer journalist, writer, and reporter for Elephant Journal and Huffington Post. I’ve had a number of my own blogs, as well. This is the latest one.

I have written and self-published a book and have plans for more. I intend to create courses and maybe a YouTube channel, in the future.

I love a good story. I love to share. I love to educate. I love to help shift perceptions and bring awareness to important issues.

I love to inspire, to uplift, to make people think. I also love to make people laugh.

Artist & Designer

I am a very visually-oriented person. I was blessed to be born with a natural artistic gift. I’ve also studied various forms of art and design, throughout my life.

I’m a web designer and this website is part of my portfolio.

I create dreamcatchers, watercolor paintings, and crafts for the home. I love creating things that are both beautiful and useful.

While I’m not an interior designer, per se, designing and decorating are part of feng shui and I love to do both for myself and others. I’m particularly interested in eco-friendly interior design practices and resources.

Lightworker

The term lightworker means many things and it really speaks to my spirit. Within that, I am an intuitive, energy alchemist, healer, and wayshower (or guide).

I am a feng shui master. I studied at two different schools (I use the best from both philosophies) and I received a certification from China Studies in 2006.

I am a highly sensitive person and while that’s challenging, sometimes, my sensitivity is one of my super powers.

Spirituality is very important to me, though I do my best to stay grounded in practicality, as well.

While feng shui is my main focus, my spiritual interests are broad and multi-cultural. I’m very interested in tarot, astrology, and witchy Celtic lore. I do numerology and astro relocation readings. I am into Gods and Goddesses from around the world, as well as angels and other light beings. Most of my art has a spiritual emphasis, as well.

My spiritual name and moniker is Fired Up Diva, BTW.

It was a Christmas gift (inspiration) from the Universe in 2013.

It fits because of my musical background, my lively personality, my sometimes operatic laugh, and my focus on empowerment and cultivating life force energy.

It was also inspired by the image that I created for my book cover.
